Before we label a child difficult, let’s get curious. 👀

Dumping. Climbing. Running. Grabbing. Painting on EVERYTHING.

It’s easy to look at the behavior and think, They know better. They’re not listening. They’re being difficult.

But behavior gives us information.

Sometimes the child needs more opportunities to move. Sometimes there’s simply too much available. Sometimes the classroom layout is inviting the chaos. Sometimes they don’t yet have the skills or tools we’re expecting them to use.

Before asking, “How do I stop this behavior?”

Try asking:

“What is this behavior telling me?”

Because sometimes the child doesn’t need another correction.

The environment needs an adjustment.
