We talk so much in early childhood about whole-body learning and engaging all of a child’s senses.
And then we look at Rosh Hashana.
We hear the shofar. We taste the honey. We touch the pages of the siddur. We see the talleisim, the beautiful Yom Tov clothing, the glow of the candles. We walk to shul and to Tashlich. We sway as we daven.
Before a young child understands every word, they are already feeling Rosh Hashana with their entire body.
And the most beautiful part is that none of this is new.
The Torah has always given us exactly what we need to teach the next generation—to help them not just learn about Yom Tov, but to see it, hear it, taste it, touch it, move through it, and truly feel it.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, and sweet new year. 🍎🍯
